@lemmy.worldTurkey contributes the second highest number of personnel to NATO so it wouldn't be easy to replace.
It's also one of israel's primary trading partners, despite its pro-Palestinian rhetoric. Hopefully this is the start of a change in its foreign policy, though I doubt any major changes will happen while Erdogan is in power.
