@Meltbox
@lemmy.worldDrunk driving seems to be severely under prosecuted for well to do and connected people.
I think it’s changing partially due to body cams now. But it’s still pretty bad.
To be honest I don’t know. I’m continuously surprised by how few politicians and rich people are shot by people they have wronged.
Like if it was your only kid or something I don’t know how you hold yourself back in the face of this kind of injustice.
He is spot on.
Algorithms and AI aren’t even any different. AI is literally a complex system of nonlinear functions. It’s not black magic.
If I wrote a traditional nonlinear alto with computer optimized parameters it only differs from ML models in that it’s less complex. Not understanding your product is not a defense.
You don’t have to have merit to file a lawsuit. You can try to intimidate or bleed a defendant out.
But this is also how you end up with stuff blowing up in your face spectacularly.
I’m betting one dude in the study renovates his house and he had asbestos containing outside walls or something and now J&J is making a show of it.
We shall see, but I wouldn’t be surprised this is more of an intimidation tactic than anything.
Just waiting on some subs to start moving here. But yeah I’ve seen huge decreases even in the volume of posts. The quality of comments has also gone off a cliff. I think the most engaged users were a tiny subset.
Definitely lost the rational and measured discussion crowd although they were always shrinking as a percentage. It’s even more outrage and dumb hot takes now.
As LTT said. Threads is the result of the Zuck flicking his tongue out and tasting blood.
But I mean we (society, not me, miss me with that) are still clearly subscribing to a social media site run by the lizard people and calling it an improvement.
Which says a lot.
