@lemm.eeIf that’s the problem, then I would just use something like goimports to auto fix the imports every time I hit save. I never even see those errors so they don’t bother me.
Not quite, I think those just stream over Wi-Fi like Chromecast?
Plex has a full media server application that your can run on a computer, and you can stream your media from it over the internet to any device that has the Plex client app.
I have a Plex server set up and running on an old laptop in my bedroom with a huge library of movies and TV shows. It acts like basically any streaming service such as Netflix, but it’s my own stuff. I can watch from anywhere on any device that has a Plex client app. I can also send invitations to friends and family so they can access it, too.
Plex is just a media server. You have to acquire content through some other means, then you can host it on a Plex server and stream it to any device that has the Plex app installed.
I have a Plex server that my entire family has logins for, and I put whatever movies or shows people are interested in. Basically you can make your own mini Netflix.
I wouldn't say that pirating is user-friendly, only that it can be more user-friendly than logging into and searching through multiple streaming services. That of course pre-supposes that you have some knowledge of how to torrent and where to find torrent files.
Waterproofing isn't important so I can take it swimming; it's important in case I drop it in a puddle.
The battery on an iPhone is good for about 1000 charge cycles (will maintain at least 85% capacity), which is about 3 years of normal use. After that, it costs like $80 to have Apple replace the battery. That's absolutely worth it to me for the improved water resistance.
The problem with removable batteries is that you sacrifice water-proofness. That's why iPhone batteries aren't removable: Apple found that, on average, people prefer a water-proof phone over a replaceable battery. If you make the battery to removable, you can't use sealants anymore, you're just relying on a gasket.
Personally, I would rather have a phone that can handle being dropped in a sink full of dishes and am happy to pay $80 every 3 years to have the battery swapped.
I pay for Hulu, Max, Disney+, Prime, and get Netflix for free. Half the time, I still can't find the show or movie I want to watch. But 99.99% of the time I can find a torrent for it within 20 seconds of searching. Not only is pirating cheaper, but it's more convenient and more user friendly these days.
I'm having a hard time envisioning a situation where testing my code requires a bunch of unused variables. Just don't declare the variables until you've started writing the code that uses them...
You can’t possibly know each person’s reasoning on why they may need or not need a particular thing. Saying someone cannot get it at all will end up hurting the little guy. The person why can’t go through all the hoops to get some random exception for their specific use case.
I absolutely can. Look at trucks from 50 years ago and compare them to the monstrosities of today
The trucks being sold today are ridiculously oversized and I can say pretty confidently that no one actually needs a vehicle that size for 99.999% of use cases. Car manufacturers are the only ones that benefit from this arms race to sell bigger and tankier vehicles to people for commuting.
You talk about it being dangerous, doesn’t every driver go through roughly the same certification process for that state? If you’re problem is the quality of their driving, you should be pushing for higher standards for getting a license
They're dangerous because of their size, not because of who drives them. A collision between a giant truck and a small passenger car has a high likelihood of severely injuring or killing the occupants of the small passenger car, A) because of the weight of the larger truck, and B) because the collision safety features of a small car are only engineered to protect well in a collision with another similarly sized vehicle.
Also, the sight-lines for these behemoths is pathetic. The Abrams M1 Battle tank has better forward visibility than a modern F250.
You say they are wasteful on gas. Wouldn’t that mean the owner would need to pay extra money out of pocket to maintain it’s use? They are bearing the cost extra cost of ownership, so why not let them use it? For example, you are probably paying for internet. Should I be allowed to stop you from using the internet you paid for because I don’t agree with your reasoning? No, and that’s completely ridiculous.
We're all paying for the environmental impacts of hydrocarbon usage. Low-efficiency vehicles should not be used for commuting.
Why in the world would you want to develop something that doesn't follow the coding rules required by your org, just so you can go back and fix everything before submitting a PR? That's just extra work.
